Pope Francis deeply advocates talks in Venezuela

Upon request of the political sectors of Venezuela, Pope Francis appointed Argentine Papal Nuncio Emil Paul Tscherrig as the Holy See representative in the initiative for dialogue.

While Pope Francis said that he did not know what will happen after the beginning of Venezuelan government-opposition talks, he added he “deeply” advocates dialogue efforts, because it is the only solution to conflict.

Pope Francis branded “complex” the country’s ongoing situation and said; “Dialogue is the only way to resolve all conflicts. Without talks, come screams and there is no other solution. I, from the bottom of my heart, deeply advocate the dialogue and I believe it is the path to follow”.
